How we judge the best dentist in Turkey

Why a published scorecard matters

The internet is full of 'best dentist in Turkey' lists that are really just adverts. Many are ranked by who paid the most, who ran the most marketing, or who happened to email the publisher first. We built this award to do the opposite: to measure clinical substance against a fixed, public standard so a UK patient can see why a clinic ranks where it does, not simply be told to trust the order.

Every dentist on our shortlist is scored out of 10 on five criteria. Those sub-scores are then combined using the weights below to produce a single overall award score. Nothing is hidden, and no clinic can pay to move up.

The five weighted criteria

1. Verified patient satisfaction — 35%

The single biggest factor, because it captures the whole journey through the eyes of patients like you. We look for consistent, well-substantiated patient feedback — not a handful of glowing testimonials — and we weight recurring themes: clear communication, honest pricing, comfort during treatment and how complaints are handled. Our 2025 winner, Taki Dent, earns a strong composite patient-satisfaction score compiled from public feedback across Google, Trustpilot, WhatClinic, which is part of why it scored 9.9 here.

2. Clinical outcomes and longevity — 25%

A beautiful result that fails in three years is no bargain. This criterion rewards durable, well-planned dentistry: appropriate treatment choices, recognised implant systems (such as Straumann and Nobel Biocare), proper bone and gum assessment, and evidence that work lasts. Clinics that over-treat for profit — fitting crowns where a filling would do — are marked down hard.

3. UK patient specialism and communication — 15%

Treatment abroad lives or dies on communication. We assess how well a clinic serves UK patients specifically: English-speaking coordinators, clear written quotes in pounds, realistic timelines, and a single point of contact from first enquiry to final fit. A clinic that goes quiet between your two trips scores poorly here, however good the dentistry.

4. Accreditation, hygiene and safety — 15%

We verify recognised accreditations such as the International Health Tourism Authorisation issued by the Turkish Ministry of Health and International Health Tourism authorisation, membership of the Turkish Dental Association, sterilisation standards and the qualifications of the dentists actually doing the work. This is a floor as much as a score: a clinic that cannot evidence its safety standards does not make the shortlist at all.

5. Aftercare and guarantee — 10%

The final 10% covers what happens after you fly home. We reward written guarantees with real terms, a clear pathway for follow-up, and clinics that take responsibility if something needs adjusting. How the final score is built

Each sub-score is multiplied by its weight and summed. A dentist scoring 9.9 / 9.8 / 9.9 / 9.7 / 9.8 across the five criteria, as our winner did, produces an overall score of 9.8 — the highest in 2025.
